Short Description:	Recombinant-Human Alpha-fetoprotein/AFP-C-His protein was developed from hek293 cells and has a target region of C-His. For use in research applications.

Immunoreactivity:	Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Human AFP at 2 Mu g/mL (100 Mu L/well) can bind AFP Mouse mAb with a linear range of 0.061-5.431 ng/mL.

Immunogen:	Recombinant Human Alpha-fetoprotein/AFP Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Arg19-Val609) of human Alpha-fetoprotein (Accession #NP_001125.1) fused with a 6×His tag at the C-terminus.

Tissue Specificity	Plasma. Synthesized by the fetal liver and yolk sac.
Post Translational Modifications	Independent studies suggest heterogeneity of the N-terminal sequence of the mature protein and of the cleavage site of the signal sequence. Sulfated.
Function	Binds copper, nickel, and fatty acids as well as, and bilirubin less well than, serum albumin. Only a small percentage (less than 2%) of the human AFP shows estrogen-binding properties.
